Hello guys, I'm new here.
I'm looking to buy a yfz 450R.
A guy want to sell me his yfz 2014
But is it really a 2014? look more like a 2011-2013 plastics color.
How to know his year?

That is not a 14. unless he changed the plastic to the old style. Look at the manufactor date if its a 14 it will be build summer 2013.

Difference between 13 and 14...14 has stronger crank, revised shocks, slipper clutch, nicer plastic....The 14 got the AIS system which can be solved with a 2013 holder.
If I was buying used I would buy a 14+ unless you get a smoking deal on the 13. I really like the slipper clutch on the 14.

ok yeah I heard about this bog for 2014. Is it only in USA product? Because I'm from canada.

The bog can be found in all R and X models with fuel injection. It is more pronounced in the 14+ models. My guess it is with all Yamaha ATVs sold in any country. The bog can be fixed by purchasing a Vortex ecu.

If you get the Vin number, the tenth digit/letter is the year. It'll be a 9 or A-H, as that's all the years YFZR's were produced. Those plastics, seat, and frame color leads me to say it's an 2011, 2012, or 2013. Which in the Vin would be B, C, or D.

Hello there same question but with This yfz450r, is it 2014 0r 2013??

Did you check the VIN? You can see by the plastics (from the side at least for me) but obviously those can be swapped out easy so it might not be correct.
Based on the plastics it looks like a 2013 or earlier to me but hard to tell from the front.

I would look to see if it has an AIS. If it has 1 its a 14+ if it does not it's a 13 or lower.
